Alfen has the pleasure of working with a Stellar, fast-growing yet established company dedicated to energy management and clean energy usage. They provide an IOT based smart energy platform to customers worldwide. They are looking for a Senior Scala Developer to join their team and help ensure their magnificent contribution to their clients and the environment continues long into the future.

As a Senior Java and Scala Developer, you will work on the in-sourcing and re-implementation of our existing operational platform. A lively interest in the Internet of Things and hardware interfacing would be an advantage, but in any case, the successful candidate must bring a sense of ownership, an appreciation of software craftsmanship and experience of Agile methodologies.

Ideal experience will include:

Familiarity with modern JVM-based languages; an appreciation of the functional benefits of Scala would be a distinct advantage

Strong Java

4+ years web-based front-end tools (preferably including React)

SQL

Familiarity with (and distrust of) Spring

Data modelling

Object-Oriented Analysis and Design

DevOps: continuous integration,

Automated test tools

UNIX scriptin

Fluent in English
